THOUGHTS & SMILES
“I’ve been having trouble with rheumatism today, Mr. Gay,” said young Billy as they met on the
street as Billy was coming home from school.
“I’m very sorry to hear that, Billy,” Mr. Gay said. “You’re rather young to have rheumatism.”
“Oh, it’s not that, Mr. Gay,” said Billy with a grin. ”It’s just that I was having trouble spelling it!”

-Prayer
Loving God, we come to you trusting in your mercy and knowing that your steadfast love endures forever. Look with mercy on those who are harmed or displaced. Give them strength to meet the days ahead, your peace which passes all understanding and new hope in the resurrection. Move in those who are able to give aid, that we may be your hands and heart on earth. Be with all who offer assistance, may your Spirit uphold them. As you have made water a sign of your kingdom, and of cleansing and rebirth, grant your people vision to see a new life on the other side of disaster.
To you be given all honour and praise, through Jesus Christ our Saviour and Lord. Amen

THOUGHTS & SMILES
Harvest is in the land! There can be no lovelier season than harvest time whether you live in the country or the city. It is very satisfying to eat something that you have grown yourself—fresh cucumbers, beans, tomatoes and potatoes, to enjoy the glorious coloured flowers, and to see the crops in the golden ripened fields blowing in the breeze
We are grateful for those who have worked on the land to bring about the harvest, and for the providence of God in giving us our daily bread!
