THOUGHTS & SMILES
Three sisters, ages 82, 84, 86, live in a house together. One night the 86-year-old draws a bath. She puts her foot in and pauses. She yells to the other sisters, “Was I getting in or out of the bath?”
The 84-year-old yells back, “I don’t know. I’ll come up and see.” She starts up the stairs and pauses, “Was I going up the stairs or down?”
The 82-year-old sister was sitting at the kitchen table having tea listening to her sisters, she shakes her head and says, “I sure hope I never get that forgetful, knock on wood…” she bangs on the wooden table with her knuckles. She then yells, “I’ll come up and help both of you as soon as I see who’s at the door.”

Tell me this won’t happen to us!!! ….Oops!  Too Late!

-Prayer
Loving God, we come to you trusting in your mercy and knowing that your steadfast love endures forever. Look with mercy on those who are harmed or displaced. Give them strength to meet the days ahead, your peace which passes all understanding and new hope in the resurrection. Move in those who are able to give aid, that we may be your hands and heart on earth. Be with all who offer assistance, may your Spirit uphold them. As you have made water a sign of your kingdom, and of cleansing and rebirth, grant your people vision to see a new life on the other side of disaster.
To you be given all honour and praise, through Jesus Christ our Saviour and Lord. Amen
