We can’t underestimate the power of prayer, or the comfort it can bring.
This anonymous poem says it all:

            Just close your eyes
And open your heart
And feel your worries
And cares depart,
Just yield yourself
To the Father above
And let Him hold you
Secure in His love.
For life on earth
Grows more involved
With endless problems
That can’t be solved.

So when you are tired
Discouraged and blue.
There’s only one door
That is open to you,
And that’s the door to
The House of Prayer,
You’ll find God waiting
To meet you there.”

Note from Tony & Shirley:
Shirley & I have looked after the church coffee hour for many years and continue to enjoy doing so. We would like to continue doing this service to all but with some help-such as with the purchasing of the coffee hour supplies, setting up, etc. -this would also be a help to know someone is looking after things when we are unable to be in church
Please talk to Tony & Shirley and ask how you can help them.

Loving God, we come to you trusting in your mercy and knowing that your steadfast love endures forever. Look with mercy on those who are harmed or displaced. Give them strength to meet the days ahead, your peace which passes all understanding and new hope in the resurrection. Move in those who are able to give aid, that we may be your hands and heart on earth. Be with all who offer assistance, may your Spirit uphold them. As you have made water a sign of your kingdom, and of cleansing and rebirth, grant your people vision to see a new life on the other side of disaster.
To you be given all honour and praise, through Jesus Christ our Saviour and Lord. Amen
